In short, there were a forfeiture, a withdrawal, and an controversial adjudication or two. Like happenings cannot help but to dampen the long term ardor characteristic of the postal chess enthusiast. We all wish that they not take place, but they still do. These special problems are discussed in the Introduction by the Tournament Secretary. Let's hope that this record, as history, will act against similar recurrences...
