Großmeister John Emms hat mit der Tarrasch-Variante der Französischen Verteidigung (1. e4 e6 2. d4 d5 3. Sd2) viele Jahre lang Erfahrungen gesammelt. Die eher positionelle Variante ist für eine solche Reihe (wo die Theorie in Form einer Partiensammlung aufbereitet wird) gut geeignet.
