First Life and Death

This book teaches life and death from scratch. We start with building two eyes, counting liberties, forming nakade and killing. We learn the basic techniques of defending or attacking life, such as constructing or partitioning an eye and altering the size of the eyespace. By solving some 200 problems, we become familiar with the basic theory of every relevant fundamental aspect including liberty shortage, capturing race, strategy and tactical reading. Start as a beginner but reach the life and death skill of intermediate players.
