VARIASCHACH basiert auf den traditionellen Schachregeln. Wie gehabt lautet Dein Ziel: Setze den gegnerischen König matt. Dafür stehen 16 weiße und 16 schwarze Figurenwürfel zur Verfügung.
Je 15 Würfel sind auf einer Seite mit den Symbolen für Bauer, Springer, Läufer, Turm und Dame sowie einem roten Punkt versehen. Der Clou: Die Würfel werden bei jedem Zug gedreht. Entweder regelmäßig oder zufällig. Das garantiert eine unvorhersehbare Spieldynamik, da sich deren Wertigkeit nonstop ändert. Einzige Konstante ist der Königswürfel, er trägt auf allen sechs Seiten das Herrschaftssymbol und wird nur gezogen.
