Der Autor düfte den meisten Schachspielern wohl noch unbekannt sein. Lasha Janjgava ist Großmeister, stammt aus Georgien und legt hier sein erstes Werk vor.
Wie der Titel verrät, nimmt er in seinem Buch hauptsächlich den Standpunkt von Schwarz ein. Die Kombination aus Damengambit und Katalanisch in einem Band ist ungewöhnlich, aber durchaus logisch.
Wer sich als Schwarzer auf die Anfangszüge 1. d4 d5 2. c4 e6 einlässt, hat keine Garantie, im Damengambit zu landen, denn Weiß kann nach 3. Sf3 Sf6 mit 4. g3 in die katalanische Eröffnung einlenken.
Bei jedem Repertoire-Buch ist es für den potentiellen Käufer wichtig zu wissen, welche Varianten der Verfasser empfiehlt. Deshalb geben wir im folgenden eine kurze Inhaltsangabe.

Der Stil des Autors ist nüchtern und sachlich. Das Buch ist für starke Vereinsspieler mit englischen Sprachkenntnissen sehr empfehlenswert und kann auch als Nachschlagewerk gut genutzt werden.
