The Grandmaster Guide to Opening News
Kasparov`s 1999 Campaign
The latest developments up to April 1999 with 31 NIC Surveys and two high-quality theoretical articles: Tiviakov on the English Attack and Bosch on the French Wing Gambit (1.e4 e6 2.Sf3 d5 3.e5 c5 4.b4). Stefan Bücker in Kaissiber about this article: "Bosch provides a lot of his own games and theoretical novelties. (...) If you want to try this gambit, you should have a copy of Yearbook 50".
Games and annotations in NICBase, PGN and ChessBase formats.

Overview
Each of the 31 database surveys on this CD-Rom, on a wide variety of opening variations as published in the Yearbooks, comes complete with all previous surveys (including annotated games) on that same variation: total 85. This provides you with a unique overview of a variation's development.
Database
A database with in excess of 37,000 games and their sources offers you a total overview of all the games previously published in the Yearbooks (starting with Volume I - 1982)
NicBase and PGN-Format
The KEY VIEWER allows you to replay all these non-annotated games sorted by opening. These games are in NICBASE 3 format. They are accompanied by a text file in PGN format.
Printing
Each game, including annotated games, can easily be printed if you have Windows or 98 on your computer. This allows you to create your own private collection of important games.
Analyzing
You are able to conduct your own analysis and can ask the chess computer you have installed (Fritz, Rebel) for an assessment of each move or variation in a game, or of your own analysis.
Extras
This CD-Rom is an independent Windows program which is very easy to install. It also contains an extensive search facility and a clear help function.
Language
All annotated games are in symbolic language, with a key in English, German, French, Dutch, Spanish and Swedish. The help function is in English, German and Dutch. The other texts, e.g. the data base surveys, are in English.
